What our dance classes focus on
My name is Marisela and I am a dance instructor. The classes I offer are Flamenco and Middle Eastern Dance. For me, the most important thing is to share what I have learned with other people with a strong emphasis on technique, music, and most important of all; culture. If you are looking to get in shape, my classes are for you. If you are looking to learn how to dance to live music and communicate with musicians, my class is for you. If you are looking to learn more about the rich cultures of the Middle East, the classes we offer will give you the opportunity to grow in this aspect.
My goal is to transmit respect, self-love towards myself and towards others which I share with my students, give information, and demand strength and elegance. It is very important for me to share the experiences I have had during the time I had the opportunity to study with great dance and culture teachers. As a part of our studies and performing programs, the idea is to create experiences where we can collaboarte with other schools both internationally as well domestically to keep expanding our knowledge. Special programs in Spain, and the U.S. TBA.
Our Language and Culture classes
Since the dance classes we offer and artistic style that we perform theatrically, are of two great cultures we like to offer the option for students to learn the languages associated with the dances for those who are curious to know more about the history, as well as understanding the meaning of the words to the songs they are dancing to. The classes we offer are: Spanish, Arabic, and English. We collaborate with the Tapia-Mendieta Academy of Language for these academic lessons. These classes are complimentary and completely optional.
Our Mission
Empower our dancers to connect with their feminine essence through dance in which we get to understand ourselves better, we heal, we overcome our personal limits and barriers.
We provide comprehensive support to our dancers with an integral training that combines dance, language, culture, history, body work and performance, in an environment that provides them a context, allows them to dance with fluitly and properly the Flamenco and oriental dances, from the understanding the beat and changes of the music.
We want to provide to the academy participants and the public, traditions to current contexts with a contemporary style, to create innovative works, without leaving the structures that dance gives us.
